This woman with hyperpigmentation, characterized with a dark mask-like discoloration that covers the cheeks and bridge of the nose occurs in men and women with autoimmune disease (when immune cells, which attack invaders, turn out to be abnormally programed to kill self cells inside the body).

Even although this is a non-infectious disorder, stigma and a lack of knowledge has left this woman with very little choices but taking the streets to beg.
